MELILLA, Spain – Joe Bell (6-6, 220, SG SF PF, Secane, PA, USA, Michael Walker, iBall Management) signs his first pro contract with with a Spanish club where he will play for the Club Deportivo Enrique Soler (C.A.M. Enrique Soler) . He will play under the direction of Head Coach Javier Nieto and in Spain’s EBA League for the 2015-16 Season.
During a tour through China, arranged by Bell’s agent, Michael Walker of iBall Management, Bell was made aware of and accepted the offer.
Early in Free Agency action, Bell led Team Goodfellas to an overtime win to advance to the tournament semi-finals and was awarded 1st Team All-iBall Pro Combine in May 2015. At the Pottstown, PA Event, Bell was a tough match up for defenders and led all players in Free Throws Attempted (19.0). According to stats by MAXOUT, he also was #1 in multi-directional movement (5.74 sec.) and was the camp’s #3 Overall Athlete. In gameplay, Bell ranked 5th overall in points per game (12.7) and 6th in overall in both player value and average rebounds per game.
Bell’s collegiate career was with the Mountaineers at the Mansfield University of NCAAD2 where he played for last four seasons under the direction of Head Coach Rich Miller. Joe Bell finished his stellar career as the Top scorer of all time in Mansfield Basketball History, shattering the previous record with his 1904 points achieved in 4 seasons. He averaged 18+ points over 106 games, distributed 202 assists, grabbed 98 steals and recorded 78 blocked shots during his four seasons in Mansfield.
Some of his other career highlights include;
- Ranked 6th in scoring in PSAC during 2014-2015 season.
- Named Daktronics All-Atlantic Region second team honors during his career.
- Earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District.
- Averaged 16.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
- Was 47.7% shooting from the field, 39.6% shooting from from three-point range and 70.4% free throws.
- Ranked 15th in the Nation in Scoring among players in NCAAD2.
- In 2005, was one of 8 players Selected to Live the Dream Foundation’s Skoolz USA where he toured to London, England to compete against European Junior National Teams.
- Bell attended Pottsgrove High School where he played for Head Coach Scott Palladino.
