Brampton A’s sign Desmond Wade (NBL Canada)

Desmond Wade2014 is turning out to be a very good year for Desmond Wade (5’8 PG, Linden, NJ). After starting the year with the Jersey Express (ABA) and being picked up later by the Lake Michigan Admirals of the Premier Basketball League (PBL), Desmond will now strut his wares up north as he joins the Brampton A’s of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada).

Though the A’s are currently in 2nd place with a 22-11 record in a league that has 9 teams, they are 7th in the league in assists per game and last in total assists, steals per game and total steals. An explosive athlete that can score and facilitate at any level, Desmond Wade’s addition would really address these areas of improvement making the A’s an even more lethal team.

Last year, Desmond participated in the 2013 iBall Pro Combine along with the top free agent basketball players across the US and played exceptionally well. He was named the 2013 iBall Pro Combine All Basketball IQ player as the Top Decision Maker in the tournament. He ranked 2nd in assists and shot an astounding 57% from distance.

Desmond also played for the New Jersey Express in the ABA and was a collegiate star with the Fairfield University Stags (NCAA D1).
