Overseas Basketball Tryout for SMAA Agency 2014 Tour to Mexico: Everything You Need to Know


Overseas_Tryouts_logo_2014_01_01The Overseas Tryout for SMAA 2014 Basketball Tour Team to Mexico is an extraordinary opportunity for players to be signed for the 2014 Professional Basketball Season in Mexico.  Players may tryout on-site or submit their resume to be considered for the team.  Two Players will be selected to join the tour for free.  10-12 others will have minimal expenses and travel, accommodations, and highlight video throughout the tour will be provided.

EXPERIENCED SCOUTS, COACHES, and PARTNERS

All coaches have Professional Coaching, Playing, or Training Experience. All have donated their time to assist you throughout the combine.  I ask that our coaches are treated with the utmost respect.

Jon Solomon – CEO, SMAA Agency Head Coach of Lake Michigan Admirals (PBL) and FIBA Licenced Agent, International Tours Director.

Mike Richmond – Co-Founder I am Focused Finest,  Former NBA and Overseas player with 13 years of professional experience overseas.

Howard Brown – Founder and CEO, iBall United, over 13 years of pro playing experience internationally.

Chris Glisson – Owner, Lake Michigan Admirals (PBL) personally responsible for professional development of hundreds of players and has assisted 40+ players sign professional contracts overseas.

Tony Devine – Experienced Pro Basketball Trainer and creator of  The Original Profender, the revolutionary training tool featured on Shark Tank and in Use by Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and top Universities across the Country.

Eric Cantrell – Experienced Head Coach and iBall United Pick and Roll Situations Guru

Brian Salter – Head Coach, Atlantic Coast Crusaders US Semi-Pro

Armando Villanueva – Chicago-based Agent recruiting for South American countries

Stan Jones – Philadelphia-based Professional Basketball trainer and player mentor

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Evaluation starts Immediately after Registration!  Attention to Detail and strong character will work to your advantage. Same for the opposite.

  • Controlled environment.  No guests will be permitted in the Restricted Areas.

  • Everything is recorded and photographed for extensive marketing purposes so we need low traffic, minimal distractions and heavy focus on court.

  • Water provided free during all training activities.

SCHEDULE

11:15  – noon Registration: Marketing and Medical Waiver Turned in

  • Your first responsibility (after sign in) is get fit for your jersey

  • Teams and session assignments announced during camp

  • Open stretch and warmup

Noon – 2:45 pm : Skills and Drills Rotation

  • Individual Competitions w/ International Tours Director, Jon Solomon and Head Coach, Mike Richmond

  • Read and React Drills w/ Creator of The Original Profender, Tony Devine

  • Pick & Roll Situations w/ iBall Pick & Roll Guru, Coach Cantrell

3:00 – 5:00  Tournament & All Star Games

*New Castle, DE Airport (ILG) is about 15 minutes away.. $20 taxi ride round trip

*Philadelphia, PA Airport (PHL) is about 35 minutes away.. Car Rental is approximately $35/day

TRANSPORTATION

Coach Larry Woody and staff will be available to provide transportation to and from the Philadelphia international Airport to the Delaware Sportsplex.  Rates begin at $15 per trip.  Please call 302.205.0224

WHAT TO BRING

  • Completed Player Waiver form (sent by email after registration)

  • Black Shorts, We provide numbered Reversable Jerseys

  • 1 Towel – for personal use

  • Bag with personal lock – we will not be responsible for no locker rooms access

  • Bring Sports Nutrition and Vitamins (Bananas, Fruit Bar, Powerade, Pickle Juice if you Cramp) Food May Not Be Available on Site
